Carbon neutral print solution for a multi academy trust

Who is the Organisation?
The Frank Field Education Trust (FFET) is a multi-academy trust based in the North West and West Midlands. It aims to build on the work of outstanding teachers, leaders, and schools within the Trust to serve schools and their communities.

What were the project requirements?
The project involved upgrading the Trust’s multi-site schools to a fully managed print system. Each location and department had specific work management needs and standardising document production across all sites was essential. Additionally, the Trust aimed to find a solution that would help support the schools' work towards carbon neutrality.

What was our process?
We carried out a comprehensive print audit of the Frank Field Trust and after consulting key stakeholders, recommended a solution to improve efficiency and sustainability through a Kyocera equipment fleet and PaperCut MF control software. To meet sustainability requirements, we also analysed where the schools were generating waste and identified ways to offset their carbon footprint.

What was our solution?
We installed a new fleet of Kyocera equipment across all locations alongside PaperCut MF control software with mifare card authentication. The intelligent software directs large jobs to the most suitable equipment and automatically deletes old, uncollected jobs. A usage tracking system enables departments and users to generate detailed reports, optimizing print efficiency. Users are able to securely collect their work from any device on the network (follow-me print).

In addition, we addressed the school’s print carbon footprint with by enrolling them in the Kyocera Carbon Neutral Programme. This allows the school to offset all carbon emissions related to the production, transportation, and servicing of the print hardware and consumables, contributing to their sustainability goals.

Customer View

“We are delighted with our new fleet and the control of both waste and print costs the new package offers. Weaver have proved to be a reliable & transparent partner providing first class support and a willingness to help wherever they can which has reduced the amount of time our internal IT team has to spend sorting out printers. The Carbon Neutral status is also very welcome and helpful, and we are pleased the Trust can contribute with reducing greenhouse gases.”
